Next Steps at Vanderbilt
Opportunities for postsecondary education are changing dramatically for young people with intellectual disability. Students who aspire to go to college now have more options and supports than ever before. Next Steps is a leading inclusive higher education program for students with intellectual disability attending Vanderbilt University. Students take a wide range of classes, participate in campus life, prepare for future careers, serve others, and develop lasting friendships.
In addition to growing and strengthening our program, we are also invested in a program of research examining the experiences of our students; the impact on peers, faculty, and the campus community; and the efficacy of various instructional and support models.
